Washington [US], August 27: "I condemn, in the strongest possible terms, Russia 's continued war against Ukraine and its efforts to push the Ukrainian people into darkness," President Biden stressed.
Mr. Biden also declared: "Russia will never succeed in Ukraine, and the spirit of the Ukrainian people will never be defeated," according to AFP. British Foreign Secretary David Lammy also condemned Russia's latest attack on civilian infrastructure in Ukraine on August 26. "The UK strongly condemns Russia's cowardly missile and drone attacks on civilian infrastructure across Ukraine today (August 26)," Lammy wrote on social network X.
Earlier, Ukrainian officials accused Russia of launching hundreds of drones and missiles into Ukraine early on August 26, killing at least four people and causing damage to Ukraine's already weak power grid, according to AFP.
The Russian Defense Ministry confirmed the attack on Ukraine's energy infrastructure on August 26. "This morning, the Russian Armed Forces carried out a massive strike with long-range precision weapons launched from the air, sea and attack drones against key energy infrastructure facilities of the military-industrial region of Ukraine. All designated targets were destroyed," TASS news agency quoted a statement from the Russian Defense Ministry.
