Over 1,000 road accidents reported in Maldives in 1st 4 months of 2024

Colombo [Sri Lanka], May 5: Over 1,000 road accidents have happened in the Maldives in the first four months of 2024, police statistics showed.
According to the police statistics, 1,044 road accidents have taken place, which is 335 more than the same period last year. The highest number of accidents, 1,009, was reported from the Greater Male area, the police data shows.
In 2023, 2,299 traffic accidents were recorded in the country.
