Man dies after crashing car into White House gate, says Secret Service

Washington [US], May 6: A man died in Washington, DC on Saturday night after crashing a car into the exterior perimeter gate by the White House, the president's Secret Service said.
"Shortly before 10.30pm on May 4th, a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed collided with an outer perimeter gate on the White House complex. Security protocols were implemented as officers cleared the vehicle and attempted to render aid to the driver who was discovered deceased," the statement read.
There was no threat to the White House, the Secret Service added. Traffic was limited in the area on Sunday morning, according to the service's chief spokesperson.
The investigation into the fatal crash is being conducted by the Secret Service and the Washington Metropolitan Police Department. (Sputnik)
