Further discussion on the peace plan for Ukraine

Oct 23, 2023

Kyiv [Ukraine], October 23: Ukrainian President VolodymyrZelensky said yesterday that he had discussed with Turkish President RecepTayyip Erdogan about the next round of negotiations in Malta regarding Kyiv's peace plan in the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
Reuters quoted the Ukrainian leader as saying that Turkey would participate in the negotiations and contribute a reliable voice and stance on the issue. The negotiating round will take place on October 28 - 29 in Malta. Two previous times, the event was held in Denmark in June and Saudi Arabia in August, with the participation of leaders of many countries but not Russia.
According to The Kyiv Independent , President Zelensky announced a peace formula in November 2022, including a plan to restore territorial integrity, force Russia to withdraw all soldiers and prosecute war criminals. The plan was supported by Western countries but rejected by Russia.
To date, the fighting in Ukraine has lasted more than 600 days and shows no signs of stopping. In an announcement on October 22, the Ukrainian Air Force said air defense systems blocked 6 attacking drones and 1 Russian cruise missile overnight. Kyiv announced that Moscow had launched a total of 9 cruise missiles, according to Reuters.
The Ukrainian prosecutor's office reported that two missiles fell on a mail center in Kharkiv City, killing 6 people and injuring many others. Meanwhile, TASS Agency reported that Russia sabotaged Ukraine's effort to replace troops in the southern Donetsk region, causing Kyiv to lose 140 soldiers and 3 armored vehicles there within 24 hours. Russia and Ukraine do not comment on each other's damage information.
