Abu Dhabi hosts second meeting of UAE-Armenia Joint Committee

Abu Dhabi [UAE], May 22: The UAE-Armenia Joint Committee held its second meeting at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Abu Dhabi. The meeting was co-chaired by Ahmed Al Sayegh, Minister of State, and Gevorg Papoyan, Minister of Economy of the Republic of Armenia.
During the meeting, both sides discussed ways of enhancing cooperation across key economic sectors of mutual interest, including trade, investment, technology, agriculture, environment, energy, transportation, education, culture, tourism, and labor, as well as strategies to bolster bilateral economic relations. The meeting was attended by numerous government officials from both countries.
Al Sayegh commended the existing economic partnership between the UAE and Armenia, underscoring the importance of diversifying and expanding collaborations in various areas of mutual interest.
He said: "Organising the second session of the UAE-Armenia Joint Committee reflects our shared commitment to strengthening the existing economic ties and exploring future prospects of cooperation, aligning with the UAE's strategic vision to strengthen bilateral cooperation with international partners."
For his part, Papoyan emphasised Armenia's keenness to reinforce economic ties and expand cooperation with the UAE.
The Joint Committee also highlighted mechanisms to enhance trade, as well as the crucial role of the private sector in fostering economic cooperation between the UAE and Armenia. The meeting concluded with the signing of the Joint Committee minutes of meeting.
The first meeting of the UAE-Armenia Joint Committee was held in 2019 in Armenia's capital, Yerevan.
