4 killed, 19 injured in traffic accident in Tunisia

Tunis [Tunisia], June 1: Four immigrants from sub-Saharan African countries were killed and 19 others injured in a traffic accident in Tunisia's southwestern Gafsa province, private radio station Mosaique FM reported on Friday.
"This accident occurred early this morning, when a truck carrying 24 illegal immigrants overturned on the main road linking the southwestern province of Gafsa and the western province of Kasserine," said Mosaique FM.
"The injured were transferred to the emergency department of the Hussein Bouziane Regional Hospital in Gafsa," the report added, without giving further details.
As of May 8, there have been 1,571 recorded road accidents in Tunisia this year, resulting in 376 fatalities and 2,204 injuries, according to data from the country's National Road Safety Observatory.
